1 John is a general Pastoral Epistle written by the Apostle John to counter the early heretical teachings and to encourage the Churches to walk in the Light of God's Word in true doctrine, obedient living and fervent devotion to Jesus. Also, to be full of joy, to have victory over sin and to be assured of their eternal salvation.
